I really wanted it to work but it just couldn't
This stick vac was my mother's day present to myself. I had to return it. Maybe I expected to much from it (I thought it would have the suction of a Shark or Swivel). It has poor suction. What it was able to pick up it then released a portion of back on the floor when you lift it off the ground. The head goes limp and some of the trash it vacumed up fall out of the head. By limp I mean the head does not remain at a right angle with the handle. The head or base forms a straight line with the handle. The filter gets clogged if you vacum a carpet. You'll have to remove the cup from the vacum and manually remove the debree from behind the flap. This vacum is like a handsome man that you want to be Mr. right but turns out to be iliterate and ill mannered. The vacum can pickup little to nothing; and, releases dirt on to the floor if the base is not level with the floor. In the end, no matter how cute, you must replace it/him with something functional. Worked fine... for a month
Re-evaluated unit and changed my mind. I now own two.
10/23/2010 - I have to re-evaluate this unit after having it for over a year. Most people seem very concerned about the battery live, but it's really not a problem. You can do most of your cleaning in 15 minutes. The swevel head manuvers beautifully. The unit get under beds because of its design. The filter in the unit is a permanent filter and can be pulled out and just tapped in the waiste basket to clean it. You can also spray some "fantastic" on it and rinse it under hot water. I've never had to do that. It is a real convenience to be able to use the hand vac when you get to a place were you can't reach with the stick vac and besides, we all use and love the hand vacs. I haven't had to use it but I purchaced the repalcement contract which was very reasonably priced. The unit is so reasonably priced that I have one at each end of the house so ones always close at hand for quick pickup.
